Classic Facials
What is a premium facial?
A facial is a skincare regimen performed by an Esthetician with the goal of exfoliating your skin, removing impurities and dead skin, and leaving your skin with a youthful glow. Like most skin care routines, a facial consists of several steps. For more advanced care, PM Aesthetics also offers Clinical Facials!
What are the steps of a facial?
Cleansing: The face is thoroughly washed and cleansed of dirt, oil, and makeup.
Exfoliating: A thin layer of exfoliating enzyme is applied to the skin to break down damaged or dead skin cells.
Extracting: Impurities, like blackheads and pustules, are removed.
Light Massage: A massage may be performed with a small amount of oil to stimulate the skin and pressure points on the face and neck, in order to relax.
Mask: A customized "mask" of product is applied to the face to hydrate, tighten, or illuminate the skin.
Apply ending products: Customized to the patient, ending products are applied at the end of the facial. These are typically moisturizers or SPFs.
What types of facials are there?
PM Aesthetics currently carries the Jan Marini line of facials, including the Marini Enzyme, Luminate, Retinol Plus, and C-Esta Facials. Request a consult to see which one is best for your needs.
Is there downtime after a facial?
There is no downtime following a classic facial, though individuals with heavier acne or who have more extractions performed with experience some pinkness afterward.
Will I break out after a facial?
It is normal to have a small break out after a facial due to the skins natural process of removing toxins and impurities. That being said, we have never had a patient report this occurring.
How long does a facial take?
Most facials take approximately 1 hour. This may vary based on the number extractions needed.
